Timothee Stassin joins the group

Timothee Stassin joins the group
Timothee Stassin joins the group staring Aug 1, 2015. Timothee recently completed his degree in Bio-engineering / Catalytic technology. During his Master's thesis he spent time in the group of Prof. Thomas Bein (LMU Munich) to learn about COF synthesis. In our group, Timothee will focus on MOF-CVD and how this novel synthesis method can be leveraged in manufacturing ultrasensitive gas sensors. Check out his LinkedIn, Google Scholar and ResearchGate profiles. Welcome Timothee!

Joao Marreiros joins the group

Joao Marreiros joins the group
Joao Marreiros will join the group on August 1, 2015. Joao is originally from Portugal and knows about aerospace engineering as well as chemistry. In our group, he will investigate building block mobility and defect creation in metal-organic frameworks, supported by MSCA-ETN project DEFNET. The research and training in DEFNET are structured into 8 work packages (research, training, outreach, management) which will provide the ESRs with a fundamental knowledge and excellent education in the most exciting and emerging field of molecular framework materials science (MOFs). Welcome Joao!

Clement Achille joins the group

Clement Achille joins the group
Clement Achille will join the group on Nov 1, 2014. Clement is originally from the south of France and studied Bio-engineering at ESSIE/ISBS (Paris). As a student, Clement spent a semester in the groups of B. Chu and M. Hadjiargyrou, in SUNY (US). His work there resulted in a first-author PLOS ONE paper, even before starting his PhD. Way to go Clement! In our group, he will launch a radically new research line that combines 3D printing and the design of porous materials. Bienvenue Clement!

Ivo Stassen joins the group

Ivo Stassen joins the group
Ivo stassen is the first official member of the Ameloot Group. He started his PhD in Oct 2012 and is co-supervised by Dirk De Vos and Rob Ameloot. Ivo is supported by a fellowship from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO Vlaanderen) and will focus on the development of new film growth methods for metal-organic frameworks. Welcome Ivo!

Olaya joins the group as a visiting scholar

Olaya joins the group as a visiting scholar
Olaya Gómez-Paz joins the Ameloot Group starting May 2019. She is originally from Spain and has completed her undergraduate chemistry degree in Chemistry in 2016 at the University of Vigo. In 2017, she received her Master's degree in chemistry research and industrial chemistry from the same institution. She is currently a Ph.D. student of the inorganic chemistry department in Vigo and her research focuses on new metallosupramolecular systems that will be used as carriers of bioactive molecules. While in Leuven, Olaya will focus on the study of structural dynamism of her coordination polymer compounds with different external stimuli (temperature, pressure, etc.)
